Important information

Ray Lei is unable to offer legal or tax advice. For matters relating to legal advice or tax structuring, we recommend you consult your solicitor or accountant.

Fees

Generally no fee is charged for the financial advice provided. This is possible because, on settlement of a loan, commission is usually received from the lender.

A one-off fee may apply where no lender commission is received, or where commission must be repaid (clawed back) within 28 months of drawdown due to repayment or material changes to the loan. Where clawback applies, any fee would be no more than $2,500 plus GST, based on $250 plus GST per hour, and will not exceed the commission that must be repaid. Any fee will be agreed in writing in advance.

Commissions & incentives

On settlement of a loan, Ray Lei usually receives commission from the lender. This is generally an upfront commission payment and may also include an ongoing trail commission payment. A fixed-rate roll-over fee may also be paid where assistance is provided with refixing.

Conflicts of interest are managed by:

  • Following an advice process that identifies your needs and goals first
  • Recommending the most suitable product regardless of commission
  • Ensuring loan amounts suit your identified needs
  • Disclosing commission structures up-front
  • Undertaking regular training on conflict management

If you have a complaint about Ray Lei’s financial advice or service, please contact R directly by phone or email using the heading Complaint — Your Name. We will acknowledge the complaint promptly and aim to resolve it internally.

If the complaint cannot be resolved internally, it may be referred to our external dispute resolution scheme:
